Habitat ReStore

Door County Habitat for Humanity opened its ReStore doors in 2009 on 410 N. 14th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay. The ReStore’s purpose is to help the community through your donations, your purchases and volunteering.

The ReStore accepts many items that residents no longer want or need. We accept new and used furniture, appliances, cabinets, doors, windows, sinks and light fixtures and so much more. After a donation is dropped off we then place it in our retail store and the money raised helps provide housing within the Door County community. You can feel good about donating for several reasons. First, those materials are going to provide another use for someone. Second, the materials will not end up in a landfill which helps our environment. Third, the money raised goes back into the community through Door County Habitat for Humanity. The money is used to help families have decent and affordable homes throughout the county. Fourth, through the Door County Habitat for Humanity tithe to Habitat for Humanity International, families in other areas of the world are also given a hand up to decent and affordable homes.

Shopping at the ReStore is a great way to stretch your financial budget and help a great cause. Many items are half of what the retail price would be. Your purchases help fund Habitat for Humanity’s affordable housing program. As of November 2017 Habitat for Humanity has built 40 homes throughout Door County, and repaired dozens more!

Your talent and time as a volunteer at the ReStore is essential in making the housing program a success. Only a couple of hours of your time a week can have a positive impact in your community. Youths can gain many great work skills volunteering and are encouraged to volunteer.
